Q: Supercuts Rock The Cut promotion is all about finding your own personal style , how would you describe the style of your band?

A: We’re very laid back- we’re not running up onto a flashy stage with pyrotechnics and dancers, so we’re very much about feeling comfortable in front of an audience. Andy (drummer) has always had a pretty classy style working for him, the guy knows how to shop- so band shopping trips aren’t exactly out of the itinerary when we have upcoming shows! As distinct individuals under a musical umbrella, we like to try on a lot of things. That sort of translates to our music as well- we’re not a band that fits well into one genre category. Everything we write is very natural for us, so our blend of big arena anthems and intimate ballads, and all the blues and country and rock and pop in between, feels right at home with us on stage. It keeps the audience attentive, and gives us more room to work with.

Q: In addition to personal style, Rock The Cut is also about being confident- How does your style affect your level of confidence when you're performing?

A: Confidence is key when you’re up on stage- the audience’s reception is totally reliant on how you present yourself. For us, we’ve been able to draw our confidence from the amazing support we’ve gotten from our fans and friends. We’re a local band of college kids, and our style reflects that- we recognize how much effort we’ll need to put in before we make any national waves, so we don’t come off as anyone but ourselves. We’ll look out in the crowd, find our support group of singing fans, and feed off of that. We’ve been able to form a lot of fantastic relationships with other local acts, including our studiomate and fellow Rock the Cut artist Cassie Boettcher, so we’re slowly trying to see what we can make of the Midwest music scene just by being confident who we are- five best friends doing what they love.

Q: Do you get your hair cut at Supercuts? If not, will you now?

A: Amir got his hair cut at the local Supercuts just a few weeks ago, but already needs another cut. His hair grows at an alarming rate; we never know what look he’ll have at practice.

Q: If you could jam with any band out there who would it be and why?

A: Oooh, a toughie. We all come from different musical backgrounds, but there’s a handful of bands we all can’t help but adore. The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters would probably be high on that list, with Mutemath and Jack’s Mannequin not far behind. They all put on incredible live shows, it’s hard not to want to jump on stage with them. Peter actually got to jam out a bit with one of our favorite bands, Company of Thieves, early in their career (talk about a band with style!).

Q: Where and when is your next live performance?

A: We’ll be doing a summer kick-off show on June 23rd at Benchwarmers in West Allis, Wisconsin. We can’t wait!
